Château Topoľčianky

The Château Topoľčianky winery is a representative of the sensitively revived tradition and, with a production of more than seven million bottles a year, ranks among the leaders of wine production in Slovakia.

The Château Topoľčianky brand was founded in 1933 but the tradition dates back to 1723. The success of the winery is underlined by its first export to the USA in 1947. The rebirth of the winery in Topoľčianky comes in 1993, when the cellars become a private company again.

The strong roots and traditions of winemaking in the small town and experienced winemakers serve as the true foundation of the company’s success.

The grapes are grown in large swathes of land areas in the Nitra and South Slovak wine-growing areas. Most red wine matures in classic wooden barrels, white in the highest quality stainless steel tanks.

Víno Nitra

Nitra’s winegrowing tradition dates back to the time of Great Moravia when Benedictine monks established a cloister at the foot of the Zobor Mountains and planted the first vineyards for altar wine.

Modern-day production of Nitra wines started in old cellars under Zobor in the 1950s. The Lužianska winery absorbed these cellars in 1976 to bottle wine that became a favorite throughout Czechoslovakia. A wide range of products are currently sold under the brand name of Vino Nitra, with the emphasis on excellent, affordable wines, particularly in the quality wine segment.

Most of the grapes and other raw material come directly from the Nitra winegrowing region and are cultivated in a green, environmentally friendly way at two locations – Malanta and Krškany – for the production of light, fruity and fresh wines.

Matyšák

Matyšák is one of the top Slovak winemakers, as evidenced by the triple victory as the best winery of 2004, 2014, and 2016. Founder Peter Matyšák is also the main visual symbol that reflects the value of winemaking - courage, spontaneity, enthusiasm and perseverance.

It was in 1991 when Matyšák winery was born in the foothills of Little Carpathians. Its founder Peter Matyšák built it from scratch, so to speak.

Originally, the winery was located in the building of today’s restaurant Vinum Galeria Bozen, later it moved to a larger and more modern production in the Glejovka district.

The winery is equipped with the latest technologies but also respects the traditional production methods required for some types of wines.

The Matyšák winery’s mission is to bring people great wines and experiences through the honest, sincere, and professional work of our employees. The Matyšák brand believes that wine can be an everyday life experience.

Why Slovak wines?

Slovak wines have deep roots that go way back in a long history. At that, it's not just history that appreciates our wines. Every year, our winemakers win a number of medals at world competitions. In 2022 our winemakers brought 81 medals from Paris, France back home to Slovakia.
