- Hoci je avokádo ovocie, v kuchyni je využívané častejšie ako zelenina. Dužinu možno veľmi dobre použiť ako náhradu masla. Zvyčajne sa z nej pripravujú chutné dresingy, nátierky, pasty, zákusky, šaláty, ale aj hlavné jedlá. Avokádo možno využiť aj pre prípravu chleba. Často sa konzumuje samotné, len pokvapkané citrónom, alebo s iným ovocím či hlávkovým šalátom.
